I have this on my shuffle and enjoy the entire album. As well as Arise. Enjoyed Chris on American Idol. So happy to see he made a CD Empty Me is a great song.
Simon was right about this guy. This is perhaps one of the worst albums I've heard in recent years. I found the writing to be self indulgent and at many points outright juvenile.
Chris has really shown what he's made of, and more importantly what God has made of him. What a great CD. The more you listen, the more you will like this one.
I hope we will hear more from this talented musician and poet. I've been a fan of Chris Sligh ever since I saw his audition on American Idol; however after hearing him perform his original songs on this disc, I am impressed with the poetry and the spiritual insights of his songs. Perhaps because I am an older fan, my favorite is the softer sound and powerful lyrics of Vessel, but I also love the creativity, musically and lyric-wise, of Loaded Gun.
I did not yet have a chance to listen carefully to the lyrics but the music is absolutely amazing. I just previewed David Cook's, David Archuletta's, Brooke White's albums and they do not compare to this one.
